‘YESTERDAY’ – PRESS RELEASE

‘Yesterday’ is about a break-up, written the day after a break-up. It’s unfiltered in the way it captures the raw emotion of processing the immediate pain and questioning of what went wrong. Drawing inspiration from my favourite timeless folk influences, ‘Yesterday’ is an intimate song with DIY samples, intricate fingerpicked guitar melodies, & a modern indie production twist.

‘Yesterday’ is the second single from my upcoming debut EP – the first single, ‘Young Love‘, was released in April and was playlisted on independent radios across the UK, US, Portugal, Australia, Ireland, and the Netherlands.

artist bio (<150 words)

Portuguese-born, California-based singer-songwriter Jos Eckert crafts melancholic indie-folk-pop infused with elements of soul and rock. His sound is defined by evocative guitar melodies, minimalistic vocals, and introspective lyrics inspired by his excessive rumination.

Jos released his debut single ‘Expectations’ in 2018, earning a nomination for ‘Best Male Solo Artist’ at the UK NMG Awards in 2019. Having spent his early years in Portugal, he moved to the UK at 18, where he spent nearly a decade shaping his artistic voice. His journey later took him to California, where he continues to refine his sound, drawing from the ever-changing landscapes of his life, both physically and emotionally.

Now, after over a year in the US, Jos is set to release his debut EP this summer, followed by his first full-length album this winter. With a raw and emotive approach, his music captures the beauty in overthinking, the weight of nostalgia, and the quiet ache of uncertainty.
